[Review] Black Paint

We all know that the very first step to having clear skin starts from taking care of our pores. There are approximately 200,000 pores on our face and and our skin cells are mixed with oil secretion (sebum), they will clog our pores, preventing our skin to breathe, which often leads to trouble skin.

On top of that, sweat and sebum are unlikely to sufficiently secrete under imbalanced skin conditions which can cause our skin to be dry, hard and dark. Besides, frequent facial wash may lead to dry skin and enlarged pores as moisture is being strip which causes troubles. Exposure to air-conditioning is another reason that causes facial dryness and enlarged pores.

These are the reasons why BLACK PAINT was designed.

A little story about BLACK PAINT:

Black Paint was founded by Miyuki Maeda when her daughter was diagnosed with a serious ''incurable" kidney disease. As she studied modern physiology and bacteriology, Miyuki Maeda would not stop until she found an answer. She learnt about beneficial bacteria and she saw the light.

Her determination to not give up has saved her daughter's life. After the success of her "personal health study", she knew she had to share the benefits with the world. Black Paint was the result.

The science behind Black paint comes from Miyuki Maeda's medical researches that led to a cure for her daughter's kidney disease.

What is Black Paint:

It is an organic skincare brand established in Kyoto 15 years ago by Miyuki Maeda. The combination of ancient secrets, modern bacteriology and contemporary natural and organic lifestyle founded by Miyuki is the successful formula to solve skim problems rooting from skin pores.

This award-winning complex mimics the nutrients and minerals that the skin itself produces through micro-biota and perspiration. Whenever the skin is lacking in those elements, whether due to inner health problems or external agents such as UV light, smog or air conditioning, it shows. Skin's pores can become clogged and its texture rough, dry and dull. BLACK PAINT restores its balance and beauty.

BLACK PAINT skincare products are made from natural organic materials blended from more than 100 types of essential oils and kishu binchotan Charcoal which have power beauty effects since ancient times.

Okay, pardon the wordy post..i shall proceed to pictures for now!

Received this lovely Black Paint Package all the way from Sample Store's office!

Black Paint soap has won 6 grand gold medal awards consecutively! The soap itself has sold more than one million units in Japan during year 2012 alone!

These are the items in the package! Some rose theme going on the whole outlook of the packaging.

*Item introduced are in sequence of usage.

Step 1a, the award winning item, Black Paint Soap! (120g/ $49.90)

It is a gentle pore cleansing hand-made face soap with Kishu Binchotan Charcoal. It cleanses pores and removes oil and dirt thoroughly without stripping away skin's essential moisture, leaving skin fresh and silky smooth.

It is to be used on dry skin, even over make up as a make up remover!
How to use the soap?

with the bowl provided, soak the soap in warm water (40 degrees) until the surfaces are soft like butter/ paste-like to release the essential oil, silk, and honey contained in the soap.

When it is ready for use, apply directly over your face! Do avoid your eye area or keep your eyes shut if you are applying your eye area as it will sting your eyes. Im using it all over my makeup directly to act as a makeup remover. There's a light scent to it which was kinda pleasant. but note that it can be quite messy to handle and wash u since the soap is slippery upon melting!

Wanted to upload a hyperlapse video to see how i become bao jing tian in a few seconds, lol. unfortunately the video format is not supported!

Remember to use all 6 surfaces of the soap so that the soap can maintain its shape and form.

Massage your face with wet hands for 20 seconds and simply wash off with water! My skin was completely clean. I tried to use my make up remover on my face to test if there are any traces of makeup left, there are NONE, except for my eyes as i dare not go too close due to the stingy sensation.

After using simply leave the soap to dry! my soap is standing in the bowl because it has dried up, duh lol. (pardon my awkard hand position lol)

my skin feels clean, but personally i felt a bit of dryness as my skin is quite sensitive, and can be unsuitable for facial products in soap form. But i have continuously tried it for around a week and i do not experience any breakout or flaky skin.

One bar of soap can last 1-1.5 months for daily usage, and it is recommended to finish within 6 months. Also, note that it is common for Singaporeans' skin to respond to mild outbreak on the first few days of usage. Am lucky i did not have outbreaks, just some slight small pimples which i already had before using the soap.

Use solely black paint products (not mixing other brand products, make up is fine) and complete the 4 steps over a continuous 28 days will quickly pacify the outbreak while maximizing results.

Step 1b: Black Konjac Sponge (1 pc/ $14.90 )

The black konjac sponge is made of natural konjac fiber which assist the pull of partially exposed comedones from your pores gently, giving your skin a radiant and smooth surface.

Soak it in warm water until it become soft, press out the excess water (do not twist the sponge) and massage face in circular motion.

Use this after using the Black Paint Soap. It can be use with or without cleanser. i use it without since my face is already well cleansed. Easy to use without fuss, can be done very fast, i also felt an instant smoothness on my skin after using this.

Step 2: Best water | toner (100ml/ $59.90)
Step 3: Oil water rose | lotion. (100ml/ $49.90)

Best water nourishes and hydrates with 30 minerals that penetrate deeply to restore skin's barrier and prevent moisture loss from within.

Use 3 to 5 pumps, gently pat on skin for better absorption, or you can also apply a facial paper mask for  better absorption.

Oil water rose dual layer emulsion soothes and softens with vitamins, anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatories.

Shake and let the oil and water mix well until lotion becomes milky colour. Then apply 3-5 pumps onto skin. Repeat this step for 2-3 times.

pat dry all over your face for absorption!
Both products absorb really well and fast! The Best Water toner does not have and scent and it simply feels like plain water, while the Oil water rose has a rose scent (which i personally dislike as im not a fan of anything rose-scented).

Lastly, which is the 4th step: Water cream Moisturizer. (50ml/ $79.90)

The water cream moisturizer promotes moisture retention and build resistance to environmental pollutants. It is basically like a water mask pack which transform into water droplets upon applying. Skin's unevenness is corrected, giving a good adhesion of your foundation and a long lasting make up finish.

It is has a mixture of rose and lavender scent, i loveeee lavender, though the smell was abit over powering for this product, but the rose scent was not as strong. I like that it is very well absorbed and feels non sticky both on my hand and face after applying, as i normally need to wash my hands after applying skincare because i hate the sticky feeling on my hands. But my hands felt dry and clean after applying this product!

Do wait till the your face dry before you apply makeup! No worries as my face was pretty dry as soon as i finish applying!

Can't wait to see more vivid results from Black Paint!
